SmallHD 17-6001 Lens Hood For Smart 7 Monitors - Neoprene Only
SmallHD 17-6001 Lens Hood For Smart 7 Monitors - Neoprene Only | Shade the screen from stray light
Keeping stray light off a monitor can make it easier to judge the picture while you frame a shot. The SmallHD 17-6001 Lens Hood for Smart 7 Monitors is a neoprene-only hood for operators using a Smart 7 display who want a simple way to shade the screen. It’s intended to reduce light falling across the display when you’re working near windows, under open sky or around bright set lighting. That can make it more comfortable to check framing and follow the image, without having to keep shifting your viewing position when reflections get in the way. This is a focused accessory for the SmallHD Smart 7 monitor family, not an upgrade to the monitor itself: it changes the conditions around the screen, not the picture being recorded. If screen visibility is the issue you’re trying to address, this hood has a clear, practical purpose.
Specialist Note
Making a Smart 7 screen easier to view when light is hitting it is the clear job of this hood. If you regularly check framing on the monitor on a bright location or beside a lit set, it gives you a simple way to shade the display while you work. The neoprene-only construction means you’re choosing a soft hood rather than a rigid-sided shade, which suits setups where you’d rather avoid a hard structure around the screen. I’d consider it when reflections keep pulling your attention away from the image. It won’t change the monitor’s picture or remove the need to position the screen thoughtfully, but it’s a specific, useful addition for a Smart 7-based monitoring setup.
