SmallRig 4308 Rhinoceros Cage Kit For Sony Alpha 7R V/7 IV/7S III
SmallRig 4308 Rhinoceros Cage Kit For Sony Alpha 7R V/7 IV/7S III | More support for handheld video
For handheld video where your camera needs extra support, this shoulder rig helps you work with a more supported setup and keep filming without relying on a fixed position. The SmallRig 4308 Rhinoceros Cage Kit is made for the Sony Alpha 7R V, Alpha 7 IV and Alpha 7S III. It’s suited to filmmakers who use one of those cameras for handheld footage and want a rig built around that work. Think of following a subject through a room, or filming a short piece to camera while staying mobile: the aim is to give your camera extra support as you shoot. Its purpose is specific, rather than a promise of a different image or a set of camera features. If handheld video is where your Sony camera needs more support, this kit is designed for that job.
For mobile handheld filming
This is a shoulder rig, so its place is in video setups where you’re operating the camera by hand and want extra support while filming. The named camera compatibility makes it relevant to owners of the Alpha 7R V, 7 IV and 7S III; it isn’t a general-purpose camera accessory for every system. Consider it for moving shots or longer handheld takes where having a supported rig matters to your working approach.
Specialist Note
Handheld video can become tiring when the camera needs more support, and that’s the problem this kit is intended to address. I’d point it out to someone filming moving shots or recording a longer piece to camera with a Sony Alpha 7R V, 7 IV or 7S III. Those are the specific bodies named for this cage kit, so the choice is nicely focused rather than vague. As a shoulder rig, it’s meant for handheld video work; plan your setup around that purpose. It won’t change the camera’s image by itself, but it gives you a rig option when extra support is the priority.
