SmallRig 5918 Bidirectional Quick Release Folding Adapter Support

SmallRig 5918 Bidirectional Quick Release Folding Adapter Support | Folding support for an adapter

For a setup that needs an adapter held by a support that folds, the SmallRig 5918 Bidirectional Quick Release Folding Adapter Support brings those functions together in one accessory. It’s described as bidirectional, quick release and folding: three clear points to consider when you’re deciding whether its role suits your setup. The product name identifies it as an adapter support, rather than an adapter itself. That distinction matters when you’re working out what part of your equipment you need.

Its folding design is the detail to focus on if you want a support that can fold, while “quick release” describes the release type. “Bidirectional” indicates use in two directions, though the product name doesn’t specify the exact arrangement. There’s no compatibility information here to match it to a particular camera or adapter, so I’d treat the name as a guide to its function, not as a fit claim. It’s a specifically named piece of support hardware, with a simple purpose: support an adapter.

Understanding its role

When choosing this part, start with the job you need done. The 5918 is identified as a support for an adapter, and its name also calls out a folding design and quick release. Those terms tell you more about its intended role than they do about the rest of a setup. If you’re comparing accessories, keep the distinction in mind: this product is the support, not a camera, charger or adapter. That makes it easier to decide whether it belongs in the part of your kit you’re planning.

One honest point: the name gives a clear description of the product category and design, but not a detailed fit guide. If those are the details you need to make a purchasing decision, the product name alone can’t settle them. What it does establish is a bidirectional, folding quick-release support for an adapter.
