SmallRig 6479 VT-17 3-IN-1 Multifunctional Travel Tripod
SmallRig 6479 VT-17 3-IN-1 Multifunctional Travel Tripod | Support for travel, landscapes and night photography
The 3-in-1 design gives the SmallRig 6479 VT-17 a broader brief than a tripod aimed at just one type of shoot. It’s a travel tripod for photographers who want steady support for several kinds of work, especially landscapes, long exposures and night or astro photography. It also suits steady video, where keeping the camera supported helps maintain a stable frame. For a landscape, that support lets you take time over composition; for a night scene or star-filled sky, it gives you a platform for longer exposures. The multifunctional approach is the main reason to consider this model: it’s intended to serve different shooting needs in a travel-oriented tripod. If those are the situations you regularly photograph, the VT-17 is worth a closer look.
Specialist Note
Three-in-one is the detail I’d focus on here: it signals a travel tripod designed to serve more than one role, rather than a single-purpose support. That makes the VT-17 appealing if you want one tripod for both careful landscape framing and night photography. For a long exposure, use the tripod to hold your composition steady while the shutter stays open; for astro work, it gives you support as you frame the night sky. It’s also suited to steady video. My honest advice is to choose it for that range of intended uses, rather than for any particular conversion or adjustment that isn’t identified in its name.
