Tokina 4" X 5.65" Hydrophilic
Tokina 4" X 5.65" Hydrophilic | A hydrophilic filter in a 4" X 5.65" format
The defining detail of the Tokina 4" X 5.65" Hydrophilic is its hydrophilic designation: it’s a filter for buyers who specifically need that surface characteristic in this size. It suits camera professionals and crews selecting filters by both format and treatment, rather than shoppers looking for a general-purpose colour effect. The 4" X 5.65" dimensions identify the filter’s format, while “hydrophilic” describes an affinity for water. That makes the name particularly relevant when moisture on a filter surface is part of the production concern. It’s best considered as a precisely specified component for a filtration setup, not as a filter with a stated colour correction or exposure effect. If those two identifiers match the requirement on your kit list, this Tokina filter gives you a clear product to ask for by name and format.
Specialist Note
The Tokina 4" X 5.65" Hydrophilic is for adding a hydrophilic surface in that specific filter format. I’d consider it for a production where managing moisture at the filter surface is the reason for choosing this type. The 4" X 5.65" size is useful when that exact format is called for; it isn’t a generic size label to overlook when planning a setup. Hydrophilic means an affinity for water, so the surface treatment is the point here—not a promised colour or exposure change. It suits crews with a clear requirement for this filter type. I’d keep the choice focused on that job rather than expecting it to replace a colour-effect filter.
