Urth 49mm Base Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL)
Urth 49mm Base Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL) | UV and polarising options in one kit
Reflections on glass or water can distract from the subject, while bright skies may look less defined than they did to your eye. The Urth 49mm Base Filter Kit Pro gives you UV and CPL filter options for different shooting situations. A circular polarising filter can reduce reflections and deepen the look of a blue sky; the effect changes as you turn the filter, so you can judge it in the viewfinder as you frame. The UV filter serves a different purpose, giving you a UV-filtering option without the polarising effect. This kit suits photographers who want to choose between those approaches rather than use one filter for every scene. It’s particularly relevant for outdoor landscapes and scenes behind glass, where glare can obscure detail. The product name specifies a 49mm filter size, so the fit is determined by the lens’s filter thread.
Specialist Note
Does the 49mm size tell me which lens this fits? Yes: look for a lens with a matching 49mm filter thread; the camera body itself isn’t the deciding detail. I’d reach for the CPL when a shop window is throwing reflections across the subject: turn the polariser while composing and stop when the glare is reduced to your liking. It can also help bring more definition to a blue sky, though the result depends on the light and your angle to it. The UV option is there for a different filtering need. In dim conditions, remember that polarising can cost some light.
