Urth 49mm Essentials Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL ND8 ND1000)
Urth 49mm Essentials Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL ND8 ND1000) | Shape light and reflections outdoors
Control reflections, soften bright daylight and explore longer exposures with the Urth 49mm Essentials Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL ND8 ND1000). It’s a filter kit for photographers who want a few different ways to work with light, rather than relying on editing for every effect. The 49mm size is for a lens with a matching filter thread. The UV filter is useful when you want a clear filter in place, while the CPL helps reduce reflections from surfaces such as glass and water. The neutral-density filters let less light reach the camera, making slower shutter speeds possible in bright conditions. That’s useful for giving moving water a smoother appearance or showing movement in clouds. The kit suits landscape photographers and anyone who enjoys experimenting with exposure outside. Its appeal is the range of options in one kit; the result still depends on the light, your framing and the exposure you choose.
Specialist Note
The ND1000 is the filter here that makes a genuinely long exposure possible in daylight, where simply stopping down may not be enough. I’d use it to blur moving water: take a meter reading first, then use a shutter speed around 10 stops longer with the filter fitted. The ND8 is a lighter step, roughly three stops, so a 1/30-second exposure can become about 1/4 second—handy for adding some movement without going all the way to a long exposure. This kit suits someone who wants to try both approaches. For the slowest exposures, you’ll need a stable camera position; movement in the camera will blur the whole frame, not just the water.
