Urth 58 72mm Step Up Ring Lens Filter Adapter
Urth 58 72mm Step Up Ring Lens Filter Adapter | Use larger filters on a smaller thread
You’re packing a filter for a lens, then realise its thread is smaller than the filter you want to use. This Urth step-up ring bridges that difference: it lets a larger filter attach to a lens with a smaller filter thread. It’s a simple way to use a filter you already own on another lens, provided the thread sizes match the pairing described by the ring. That can save you carrying duplicate filters in different sizes, especially when you switch between lenses during a day out. The ring sits between the lens and filter; it doesn’t replace the filter or change what the filter does. Its job is specifically to step up from the smaller thread to the larger one. If your lens and filter are the same size, you don’t need a step-up ring. For the right size pairing, this is a compact, direct solution to a common filter-bag mismatch.
Specialist Note
This ring lets a larger filter work on a lens with a smaller filter thread, without needing a separate filter in every size. The 58 mm lens thread and 72 mm filter thread tell you exactly which direction the fit goes: attach the ring to the lens first, then screw the larger filter onto it. I’d consider it if you want to share a 72 mm ND or polarising filter with a lens that has a 58 mm thread. It’s also handy when you’re changing filters between compatible lenses. Just keep in mind that it only bridges this particular size pairing; it won’t fit every lens and filter combination.
