Urth 67mm Base Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL)

Urth 67mm Base Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL) | UV and polarising options in one kit

Bright daylight on water or glass can leave distracting reflections in a photograph. The Urth 67mm Base Filter Kit Pro brings together a UV filter and a CPL, or circular polarising filter, for photographers who want those two filter types available in one kit. The 67mm size is the key detail when choosing it: it’s intended for a lens with a matching filter thread. A CPL can help reduce reflections and adjust the appearance of a blue sky, while a UV filter is designed to filter ultraviolet light. They do different jobs, so having both gives you a choice rather than asking one filter to do everything. It’s a straightforward option for landscape, travel and everyday photography where changing light or reflective surfaces can affect the shot. The kit name doesn’t tell us about coatings or construction, so I’d choose it for the filter types and size, not for unverified extras.

Choosing which filter to use

For a scene with reflections, use the CPL and turn it while watching the image; the effect changes with its position. It’s especially relevant when you’re photographing water, windows or a sky with the sun off to one side. For other situations, the UV filter is the alternative in the kit. Neither filter removes the need to compose carefully: a polariser’s effect depends on the angle of the light, so it won’t look the same in every direction. The practical advantage here is having two distinct options in the stated 67mm size.
