Urth 67mm Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus+
Urth 67mm Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus+ | Soft, atmospheric highlights
For softer highlights and a more atmospheric look, the Urth 67mm Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus+ is a lens filter for photographers who want to shape the mood in camera. Its 67mm size is the key fitting detail: it’s intended for a lens with a matching 67mm filter thread. The White Mist effect gently diffuses the image, giving bright points of light a softer presence and taking some crispness out of contrast. That can suit portraits, night scenes and other pictures where a clean, clinical look isn’t the aim. It’s a practical way to explore a softer rendering without relying on a post-processing effect for every frame. The result depends on the scene and the light, so it’s best treated as a creative choice rather than a correction filter. Choose it when you want highlights to feel less hard and the overall picture to carry a little more atmosphere.
Specialist Note
The 67mm diameter gives this filter a clear job: it belongs on a lens with a 67mm filter thread, so check that size against the lens you plan to use. The White Mist name points to the look it’s made for—softer, more diffused highlights rather than maximum crispness. I’d try it with a portrait against a bright window, or with street lights after dark; keep the light sources in the frame and let their softer rendering shape the mood. It suits photographers who enjoy making that choice while shooting. One honest trade-off: the softer look won’t suit every scene, especially when you want sharp, punchy contrast.
