Urth 67mm Magnetic Infra-Red (R72) Filter Plus+ | A dedicated filter for infrared photography

Urth 67mm Magnetic Infra-Red (R72) Filter Plus+ is a 67mm magnetic infrared filter for photographers who want to explore infrared photography. It’s suited to people who are drawn to making images with an infrared approach, rather than adding another everyday filter to their kit. The R72 designation identifies the filter, while the magnetic format is part of how it attaches; together, those details make this a specialist option with a clear purpose. You might use it when photographing a landscape or an architectural subject and want to work specifically with infrared photography. It’s also a considered starting point if you’re building a setup around this kind of image-making and want a named R72 filter in a 67mm size. This isn’t a general-purpose filter for routine shooting. Its appeal is precisely that it’s aimed at a more particular photographic interest.

Specialist Note

Photographers exploring infrared landscapes or architecture are the people I’d point towards this Urth filter. The 67mm size gives you a clear figure to match against the filter size you need, so it’s worth treating that number as your first practical reference. R72 tells you this is an infrared-specific tool, not a general filter for changing the look of every scene. For a landscape, use it when you’re deliberately working in infrared; for architecture, it gives you a dedicated option for that same approach to a subject with strong lines. I’d keep expectations focused: this is a specialist filter, and its value is in that specific purpose.
