Urth 72mm Variable ND2 32 + ¼ Black Mist Filter Pro
Urth 72mm Variable ND2-32 + ¼ Black Mist Filter Pro | Shape light and soften highlights
Smoother motion and a softer glow around highlights are the two looks this combined filter is made to help you create. Its variable ND range runs from ND2 to ND32, reducing the light reaching your camera by roughly one to five stops. That gives you room to use a slower shutter speed in daylight or keep a chosen aperture as the light changes. The built-in ¼ Black Mist effect gently softens bright points and the overall contrast, giving portraits, street scenes and video a more diffused look. It suits photographers and filmmakers who want both exposure control and that softened rendering in one filter, rather than carrying two separate filters. The effect stays in the image as you adjust the ND setting, so this is a considered creative look, not a neutral exposure tool. Choose it when you want to shape motion and highlights together, and keep the mist character consistent throughout the shot.
Specialist Note
The Urth 72mm Variable ND2-32 + ¼ Black Mist Filter Pro is best for controlling daylight exposure while giving highlights a gentle bloom. The ND2-32 range spans about five stops, which can turn a 1/30-second exposure into roughly one second at ND32 if you keep aperture and ISO unchanged—handy for adding motion to a stream or passing traffic. Its ¼ Black Mist strength gives bright points a softer edge, so it also suits portraits where you want a less crisp, more diffused rendering. The 72mm size means you’ll need a lens setup made for 72mm filters. One thing to keep in mind: the mist effect remains present at every ND setting, so this isn’t the pick if you want neutral-looking images.
