Urth 77mm Magnetic Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus+
Urth 77mm Magnetic Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus+ | A softer, more atmospheric image
Urth 77mm Magnetic Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus+ is a 77mm filter for adding a gentle, misted look to your photographs. It’s made for photographers who want a softer rendering than a clean, neutral filter gives, especially for portraits and scenes with bright points of light. The White Mist effect can soften contrast and give highlights a subtle glow, bringing a more atmospheric feel to evening streets, concerts or portraits near a window. It’s a creative choice, rather than a filter for keeping every scene crisp and unchanged. Use it when you want the light to contribute to the mood of the picture, and leave it off when you prefer a more straightforward rendering. The 77mm size is the key fit detail to match with your lens; the effect itself is the reason to reach for it.
Specialist Note
Portrait photographers who like a softer look around bright lamps or window light are the ones I’d point towards this Urth. The magnetic attachment makes fitting the filter a quick step, which is handy when you want to move between a misted look and a cleaner frame during a session. For a portrait, try composing with a bright light near the subject rather than directly behind the camera; that gives the White Mist character something to work with. Its 77mm size is relevant to the lens you plan to use, so match that figure before choosing it. I’d keep in mind that the soft, hazy rendering is intentional: it won’t suit every scene or every taste.
