Urth 82mm Base Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL)
Urth 82mm Base Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL) | Manage glare and ultraviolet light
Reduce distracting reflections and shape the look of bright outdoor scenes with the Urth 82mm Base Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL), an 82mm kit named for its UV and CPL filter types. The CPL is useful when water, glass or glossy leaves catch unwanted reflections; adjusting its effect can bring more detail back into those surfaces and add depth to a blue sky. The UV filter is intended to limit ultraviolet light, which can contribute to haze in distant views. This kit suits landscape photographers, travel shooters and anyone working around reflective surfaces who wants filter options at the lens. Its appeal is practical rather than complicated: one filter type addresses reflections, while the other addresses UV light. The results from a polarizer depend on your shooting angle, so it’s a considered tool rather than an automatic change to every frame.
Specialist Note
The 82mm filter ring gives this kit a clear home: it’s sized for a lens with an 82mm filter thread. I’d keep that diameter in mind when choosing which lens to use it on. The CPL is the one to reach for around water or windows; turn it while watching the reflection, and stop when the surface detail looks right. For a landscape, it can also deepen a blue sky, though the result changes with your angle to the light. The UV filter has a different role, addressing ultraviolet light rather than reflections. This pairing makes sense for outdoor work, but a polarizer won’t remove glare equally from every direction.
