Urth 82mm Variable ND2 32 Filter Pro
Urth 82mm Variable ND2 32 Filter Pro | Shape daylight for slower exposures
In bright daylight, a neutral density filter lets you use a slower shutter speed or a wider aperture without changing the light itself. The Urth 82mm Variable ND2 32 Filter Pro offers adjustable light reduction, so you can move between a modest cut and a stronger one as the scene calls for it. That makes it useful for smoothing moving water, showing motion in clouds, or keeping video exposure under control outdoors. It suits photographers and filmmakers who want to make those exposure choices without swapping between several fixed-strength filters. The 82mm size is for lenses with a matching filter thread, so it’s worth checking the thread size on the lens you plan to use. Its appeal is straightforward: choose the amount of light reduction that fits the shot, then set your exposure around the look you want. The range has a limit, though; in very bright conditions, its strongest setting may not be enough for every slow-shutter effect.
Specialist Note
Harsh daylight can leave you choosing between a fast shutter and the motion you wanted to show; this filter gives you room to bring that shutter speed down. The ND2–32 range runs from one to five stops of reduction, so for a stream metered at 1/1000 sec, the strongest setting can bring the exposure to roughly 1/32 sec at the same aperture and ISO. That’s a practical starting point for a softer water effect. The 82mm size makes it relevant to a lens with that filter thread, rather than a universal fit. I’d point it toward outdoor video or long-exposure work; for very bright scenes needing more than five stops, you’ll need stronger light reduction.
