Viltrox AF Air 9mm f/2.8 XF Fuji X Mount | Wide views for Fuji X landscapes

On a narrow street or beneath a wide night sky, it can be hard to fit the whole scene into one frame. The Viltrox AF Air 9mm f/2.8 XF is an interchangeable ultra-wide prime for Fujifilm X cameras with APS-C sensors. Its 9mm focal length gives an estimated 115° angle of view, so you can include more of the surroundings without stepping back. That makes it particularly suited to landscape, architecture and astro photography, especially when the breadth of a scene is part of the picture. Autofocus is on hand for everyday framing, while the very wide view rewards careful composition: nearby objects can appear much larger than things farther away. For Fuji X photographers who often find a standard view too tight, this lens opens up more of the scene.

Specialist Note

Trying to include a whole building or a broad sweep of sky can mean backing into a wall—or losing the edges of the scene. This 9mm gives Fuji X users roughly a 13.5mm full-frame-equivalent view, which is a dramatic change in framing. For star fields, the f/2.8 maximum aperture lets you work with more light; start there, then set focus carefully on the stars. For architecture, keep the camera level and place the building deliberately in the frame to manage converging lines. It’s a specialist-wide perspective, so close foreground objects can look exaggerated; that effect is useful when you want depth, less so for natural-looking proportions.
