Viltrox Ultra Slim MC UV / Protection Filters 62mm

Viltrox Ultra Slim MC UV / Protection Filters 62mm | A slim filter for UV and front-element protection

The defining choice is the ultra-slim design: Viltrox keeps the filter profile low, so it adds less bulk at the front of a lens. This 62mm filter is named for two roles—UV filtering and protection—making it suited to photographers who want a filter for either purpose on a lens with a matching filter size. Use it as a protective layer during everyday photography, or choose it for its UV-filter role. The “MC” designation is part of the product name; I’ve kept to that description rather than assuming details about its construction or optical performance. The important practical point is the 62mm size: the filter needs to match the lens’s filter thread. If it does, fitting it is a straightforward way to add a filter without choosing a thicker design. It’s a simple, specific accessory, rather than a way to change focal length or exposure.

Choosing the right size

Look for the filter-thread size marked on the lens or in its documentation. It needs to read 62mm for this filter to fit directly. Lens diameter and filter-thread size aren’t always the same thing, so use the thread marking as your guide. If your lens has a different filter size, this model won’t be a direct fit. Choosing the right diameter first saves the hassle of ordering a filter that can’t be screwed onto your lens.
