Westcott FJ Wireless Adapter For Sony Cameras
Westcott FJ Wireless Adapter For Sony Cameras | Fire off-camera flash from your Sony camera
On-camera flash can limit where you place the light, making it harder to shape portraits or control reflections on a product. The Westcott FJ Wireless Adapter is a flash trigger and transmitter for Sony cameras, designed to fire an off-camera flash. It gives you a way to work with the light away from the camera rather than having it fixed at the camera position. That makes it a practical tool for portrait photographers who want to place light to one side, and for product photographers who need to manage how light falls across an object. Its purpose is focused: it triggers an off-camera flash. If you already use flash and want to explore different light positions with a Sony camera, this adapter is the link between your camera and that off-camera setup.
Specialist Note
For a one-light portrait, I’d start by moving the flash to one side of your subject and using this adapter to trigger it from your Sony camera. That small change in position gives you more control over where the light falls than keeping it on the camera. As a transmitter, its job is to send the firing signal; it doesn’t produce light itself, so you’ll need an off-camera flash in the setup. I’d also consider it for product work: position the flash to bring out shape or texture, then adjust the light’s placement to suit the object. It’s best suited to Sony camera users who already have a flash-based workflow in mind.
