Westcott X-Drop Pro Wrinkle-Resistant Background - Kanarie Yellow (2.4 X 2.4 M)

Westcott X-Drop Pro Wrinkle-Resistant Background - Canary Yellow (2.4 x 2.4 m) | Give studio images a bold yellow backdrop

Your pictures get a clear block of colour behind the subject, rather than another detail competing for attention. The Westcott X-Drop Pro Wrinkle-Resistant Background in Canary Yellow is a photo background for photographers who want yellow to play a deliberate part in the image. Its square 2.4 x 2.4 m format gives you room to plan a portrait or product shot around a broad, consistent-looking field of colour. The wrinkle-resistant description is useful if you’d rather spend less of your session worrying about creases in the background. It won’t make yellow a quiet choice; that’s part of the appeal, and it’s worth considering how strongly you want the backdrop to read in your finished pictures. For a studio setup built around a clean, colourful look, this Westcott background gives you a specific tone and a generous square area to work with.

Working with a yellow backdrop

Yellow can become a prominent part of a photograph, so think about the balance you want between the subject and the background. A simple composition lets the colour do more of the visual work; a more detailed scene gives the eye other places to go. The choice depends on the look you’re after, rather than on a fixed rule. This background suits planned studio images where you’ve chosen yellow as part of the picture, whether the subject is framed centrally or placed off to one side. It also gives you a defined colour to work into a series, instead of choosing a different background for each frame. In practice, the useful question is straightforward: do you want the background to be noticed? If so, Canary Yellow makes that decision clear.
