Cinema & Anamorphic lenses

Anamorphic lenses are specialized optical tools designed to capture an ultra-wide, cinematic field of view on a standard digital or film sensor. They achieve this by optically "squeezing" the image horizontally during capture. In post-production, this footage is "de-squeezed" to reveal a widescreen aspect ratio without cropping the top and bottom of the frame, thereby preserving maximum sensor resolution and image quality.

Originally developed to maximize the use of 35mm film real estate, anamorphic lenses are highly sought after today for their distinct visual imperfections and artistic characteristics.
