Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV Clear 6.6x6.6
Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV Clear 6.6x6.6 | Clear protection for compatible rigs
Without a dedicated protection filter, the front of an optical setup is exposed to the knocks of routine handling. The Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV Clear 6.6x6.6 is a clear filter for camera crews who want a protective layer without choosing a filter for a creative image effect. Its role is deliberately practical: keep protection at the front of a compatible setup, and add other filtration when a shot calls for it. It suits cinematographers and camera departments working with a rig designed for this filter format. Use it during setup and between takes, when equipment is being handled and the front of the optical path could otherwise be left exposed. This is a straightforward protection filter, not a tool for changing the look of an image.
Specialist Note
A clear filter won’t give you a creative look, and it isn’t a substitute for careful handling; its value is having protection in place during everyday camera work. The 6.6 x 6.6 square format makes this a specific fit for rigs built around that filter size, so I’d first make sure that format suits your setup. For a production team, it can be useful during camera preparation and between takes: keep the clear filter in the optical path when you don’t need an image effect, then change filtration when the shot requires it. If you want a simple protective option in this exact format, this Schneider-Kreuznach keeps the purpose uncomplicated.
