DZOFILM Pavo 2X Anamorphic Prime 28mm T2.1-BLUE Coating-Pl&ef Mt (M)
DZOFILM Pavo 2X Anamorphic Prime 28mm T2.1 Blue Coating (Canon EF) | Anamorphic framing for film work
When you need to give a scene a wider, more cinematic frame without changing your camera position, this 28mm anamorphic prime has a clear role. The DZOFILM Pavo 2X is an interchangeable lens for filmmakers who want to shape their image with anamorphic optics, whether they’re building a narrative scene or filming a carefully composed commercial. Its 28mm focal length suits establishing shots and interiors where you need to hold more of the setting in frame. This version is for the Canon EF mount, and focusing is manual, so it suits a setup where focus can be planned and adjusted deliberately. The T2.1 maximum aperture gives you room to work in lower light and to control depth of field. The blue-coating designation identifies this version; the useful point here is the lens’s specific combination of 28mm framing, 2X anamorphic design and Canon EF fit.
Specialist Note
When a regular frame doesn’t give a scene the breadth you want, this 28mm focal length gives you a practical way to include more of the location without stepping back. For a two-person interior, keep the camera position fixed and compose both performers with some of the room around them; the anamorphic format gives that frame its distinct widescreen character. The T2.1 maximum aperture is helpful when the set is dim: open it up to gather more light, then adjust exposure to suit the scene. Manual focus rewards a planned approach, especially for a measured dialogue scene. I’d point this lens toward filmmakers who can take time over focus and composition; it’s less suited to work that depends on autofocus.
