Radius Shotgun Mic Foam Windshield 12cm Std Hole
Radius Shotgun Mic Foam Windshield 12cm Std Hole | Less wind on your recordings
Wind noise can distract from speech and other sounds in a recording. This Radius foam windshield is made to cover a shotgun microphone and help reduce that noise, giving location dialogue and spoken-word recordings a cleaner starting point. It’s a straightforward accessory for videographers, interviewers and anyone recording with a shotgun mic who wants a simple wind cover rather than extra equipment to manage. The 12 cm size gives you a specific length to compare with the section of your microphone you want covered. Its standard hole describes the opening, so it’s worth considering that detail when choosing a windshield for your setup. Use it when recording outside or near moving air, and keep the mic aimed at the sound you want to capture. It won’t remove every source of wind, but it can help keep mild airflow from becoming the loudest thing in a take.
Specialist Note
At 12 cm long, this windshield gives you a clear size to compare against the part of your shotgun mic you want covered. I’d consider it for location interviews or spoken pieces where a little wind on the mic can spoil otherwise usable dialogue; fit the cover over the microphone before recording and keep the mic directed towards the speaker. The standard hole is another detail to match to the mic, rather than assuming the word “standard” means every microphone will fit. It’s a simple foam cover, so think of it as help with wind, not a fix for strong gusts or noisy surroundings.
