Rycote RØDE VideoMic Pro+ Mini Windjammer

Rycote RØDE VideoMic Pro+ Mini Windjammer - up to 30 dB of extra sound isolation

Wind across an outdoor recording can add unwanted noise to the sound picked up by your microphone. The Rycote RØDE VideoMic Pro+ Mini Windjammer is a synthetic-fur windshield made specifically for the RØDE VideoMic Pro+, with up to 30 dB of extra sound isolation. It’s a focused accessory for people recording with that microphone who need to reduce wind noise outdoors, rather than a general-purpose cover for different microphones. Use it when filming a spoken piece outside, recording an outdoor interview or capturing sound in a breezy location. The fur forms the windscreen around the microphone and is intended to minimise wind noise without affecting sound quality. That combination is what makes the Mini Windjammer relevant for location recording: it addresses wind at the microphone, while keeping the microphone’s recorded sound quality intact. Its stated fit is specific, so it’s worth matching the name to your microphone before adding it to your kit.

Wind Protection Features

• Made for the RØDE VideoMic Pro+: This Mini Windjammer is specified for that microphone model. The exact fit keeps the accessory’s intended use clear when choosing a windshield for your recording setup.
• Synthetic-fur construction: The windscreen is made from synthetic fur. That material is the key feature of its wind-protection design for outdoor recording with the VideoMic Pro+.
• Up to 30 dB of extra sound isolation: Rycote states a maximum of 30 dB of additional isolation. That figure gives you a concrete indication of the wind protection the accessory is intended to provide.
• Reduces wind noise: Its purpose is to minimise wind noise reaching the microphone. That matters for recordings made outdoors, where wind can otherwise become part of the captured sound.
• Made for outdoor recording: The Mini Windjammer is intended for use outside with the specified microphone. It’s relevant for spoken recordings and other audio captured in open-air locations.
• Sound quality remains unaffected: The stated wind protection does not affect the quality of your sound. You can address wind noise while keeping the recording quality intact.
