SmallRig 5563 L-Shaped Mount Plate w/ Wooden Handle For OM System OM-3

SmallRig 5563 L-Shaped Mount Plate w/ Wooden Handle For OM System OM-3 | More support for handheld video

For handheld video work, this shoulder rig gives you a more supported way to hold your camera and frame a moving shot. The SmallRig 5563 L-Shaped Mount Plate w/ Wooden Handle For OM System OM-3 combines an L-shaped mount plate with a wooden handle, and it’s made for the OM System OM-3. It suits OM-3 owners who want extra support while filming without changing the job into a locked-off tripod shot. Use it for a short handheld sequence, a walk-through or a talking-head clip where you want to keep working with the camera in your hands. The handle gives your supporting hand a defined place to hold, while the plate is the rig’s mounting part. It’s a focused piece of video support: the point is a more supported handheld setup, rather than a promise of perfectly still footage.

Using the rig

For a talking-head clip, settle into a comfortable stance and keep your movements restrained; the extra support is most useful when you’re actively holding the camera. For a moving shot, plan the path before recording and keep the pace even. Those simple choices help you make deliberate footage with a handheld setup, without expecting the rig itself to make movement disappear.
