Cartoni AH843 Telescopic Pan Bar
Cartoni AH843 Telescopic Pan Bar | Adjust your reach for controlled pans
Trying to make a controlled pan while keeping your hand in an awkward position can distract from the framing. The Cartoni AH843 Telescopic Pan Bar is a tripod accessory that gives you adjustable reach for guiding pan movements from a more workable position. Its telescopic design lets you change the bar’s length, so you can set your hand position around the way you need to operate rather than adapt every move to one fixed reach. It suits camera operators working with a tripod who want a more deliberate start, finish and pace to a pan—whether they’re following a person across the frame or making a measured move through a scene. It’s a focused piece of kit, not a support system or a camera-control unit: its job is to give you a handhold for panning. If you prefer direct, hands-on movement over complicated controls, this is a straightforward accessory to consider.
Specialist Note
“Will the AH843 help me find a more comfortable reach for a pan?” Yes—that’s the benefit of its telescopic design. For a slow reveal, set the bar’s extension so you can guide the move without reaching across your setup; when following a subject, choose a position that lets your hand travel steadily through the pan. As a pan bar, it gives you direct physical input, which suits operators who prefer to steer a move themselves. I’d treat it as a handling aid, not a fix for an unstable tripod or an unsuitable setup. If adjustable reach is what’s missing from your operation, the AH843 addresses that specific need.
