Zacuto Kameleon Pro EVF For Red Raptor XL
Zacuto Kameleon Pro EVF For Red Raptor XL | Extra support for handheld video
The shoulder-rig format is the defining choice here: it’s intended to give handheld camera work extra support. The Zacuto Kameleon Pro EVF For Red Raptor XL is a rig for people building a handheld setup around the RED Raptor XL, particularly when they want more support than simply holding the camera on its own. Its role is focused rather than all-purpose: it suits video work where the camera needs support while remaining handheld. That makes it relevant for planned handheld coverage, such as following a subject or filming a piece to camera. If most of your work is locked-off, this may not be the part of your setup you reach for most. But when handheld operation is central to the job, a shoulder rig gives that setup a clear purpose. It’s a specific option for RED Raptor XL users, not a general-purpose rig listing.
Specialist Note
On a city street at dusk, the RED Raptor XL is following a subject through the last of the evening light. That’s the sort of handheld setup where this rig has a clear role: it’s made for the RED Raptor XL, and its shoulder-rig format adds support for handheld video work. I’d consider it for following a subject or filming a short piece to camera when you want to keep the camera handheld rather than lock it off. The useful distinction is the job, not a long list of features: this is a dedicated rig for that camera system. If your filming is mainly static, its handheld focus may be more than you need.
