Filmsticks Tiny 6 All Weather Resin Clapper Sticks with Black & White Chevron | A clear visual cue on set

When a take needs a clear start mark, clapper sticks give the crew a familiar visual and audible cue. The Filmsticks Tiny 6 are resin clapper sticks, described as all weather, with a black-and-white chevron design. That makes their appeal quite specific: they’re for film crews and video makers who need clapper sticks as part of the slate workflow, and who want a patterned marker rather than a plain-looking pair. “Tiny 6” is the product’s size designation; the title doesn’t give a unit, so it’s best treated as the model name rather than a measurement. The chevron adds a distinct graphic detail, while the all-weather wording points to use beyond strictly indoor setups. These are a focused studio accessory, not a general-purpose grip item. If your shoot uses a slate to identify takes and mark the action for post-production, this is the kind of small set tool that has a clear job.

Where clapper sticks earn their place

At the start of a take, the slate provides a moment the crew can recognise and the editor can use when reviewing the footage. The clap also gives sound and picture teams a shared cue to work from. That simple routine matters most when a production is recording separate sound or handling several takes: the mark helps connect the moment on camera with the corresponding audio and scene information. These sticks are for that established slate practice. They don’t replace the slate itself or the crew’s take notes; they’re the part that closes with a clap and makes the cue visible. It’s a modest role, but on a busy set a clearly identifiable start point can save time when footage is being reviewed.
