ACT D-SUB Null Modem Adapter 9 Pole Female To 9 Pole Male

ACT D-SUB Null Modem Adapter 9 Pole Female To 9 Pole Male | Female-to-male fit for null-modem connections

When two pieces of equipment need a null-modem connection and the connector ends don’t match, this adapter is the small part that can make the connection possible. It’s an ACT D-SUB null modem adapter, with a 9-pole female end and a 9-pole male end. That makes it relevant to anyone working with equipment or cabling that calls for this specific connector arrangement and null-modem type. The useful detail is that the adapter name tells you both what connection type it serves and the gender of each end; you don’t have to guess from a generic cable description. It’s a practical, specific fix, rather than a general-purpose connector. The honest limitation is that matching the connector arrangement alone doesn’t establish that the rest of a setup is compatible, so this is best chosen when you already know a null-modem connection is required.

Choosing the right connection

Connector gender and connection type describe different things. Female and male identify the physical ends; “null modem” identifies the kind of connection the adapter is intended for. Keeping those details separate is helpful when you’re checking a cable or equipment requirement: a matching pole count and connector shape aren’t, by themselves, enough to identify a null-modem adapter. This model brings the named details together in one adapter, so it suits a job where both the 9-pole D-SUB format and null-modem type are specified. If you’re sorting parts at a workbench, it’s worth reading the complete connection requirement rather than selecting by connector appearance alone. That’s the useful distinction here: this isn’t described simply as a 9-pole D-SUB gender adapter; it’s specifically identified as a null modem adapter.
