AGM SIOUX940 Long-Range Infraroodstraler 940NM 800MW V2
AGM SIOUX940 Long-Range Infrared Illuminator 940nm 800mW V2 | Add infrared light for dark viewing
Without an infrared illuminator, a night-vision setup has to make do with the light already in the scene. The AGM SIOUX940 is designed to add infrared illumination, giving you an extra source of light for viewing in dark conditions. It suits people who want to observe wildlife after dusk or keep an eye on a dim outdoor area with a night-vision device that can detect its infrared output. The long-range design makes it relevant when the subject isn’t close by, though the useful distance will depend on the viewing equipment and conditions around you. This is a focused tool for night observation, not a general-purpose lamp: it provides infrared light rather than visible scene lighting. If your setup needs additional illumination at night, the SIOUX940 gives you a clearly specified wavelength and power figure to consider.
Specialist Note
For a wildlife watch at a dark field edge, I’d build the setup around this unit’s 940nm output and a night-vision viewer that can detect that wavelength. That gives you infrared illumination for observing in darkness; it isn’t a visible lamp for lighting your path. The 800mW figure is useful when comparing illuminators, but it doesn’t tell you the working distance on its own, so I’d avoid assuming a particular reach without knowing the viewer and conditions. It suits wildlife observers and anyone watching an outdoor area after dark. My practical advice: match the viewer to 940nm first, then judge the result in your intended setting.
