B&W Case Type 5000 w/ TEX.221.RPD (Photo Bag); Black
B&W Case Type 5000 w/ TEX.221.RPD (Photo Bag); Black | Protection for gear on the move
On the way from storage to a shoot, a bump, dusty setting or spell of rain can make you think twice about how your camera gear is packed. The B&W Case Type 5000 with TEX.221.RPD is a hard case for photographers who want a more protective way to transport and store their equipment. Its intended role is straightforward: help gear withstand knocks, dust and rain during everyday handling and transit. That makes it a sensible option for moving equipment between home, studio and location, or keeping it stored when it isn’t in use. The product is identified as a photo bag, but its construction is that of a hard case rather than a soft carry bag. If protecting equipment is the priority, this is the kind of case to consider.
Specialist Note
Worrying about a knock or dusty surroundings every time you move your kit is exactly the hassle this hard case is meant to reduce. I’d consider the Type 5000 for someone who regularly transports photo equipment and wants a more protective place to keep it between outings. The hard-case format is useful when gear may get bumped in transit; the black finish keeps the case’s appearance understated in a studio or vehicle. For a practical routine, pack your equipment inside for the journey, then store the case in a dry spot when you’re back. It’s designed with rain in mind during transport, but I wouldn’t treat that as permission to leave it sitting in water.
