B+W Collapsible Lens Hood 77
B+W Collapsible Lens Hood 77 | Compact storage between shots
The B+W Collapsible Lens Hood 77 is a fold-down lens hood with a 77 designation, for photographers who want a hood that takes up less room when it’s not in use. Its collapsible form is especially handy when you’re packing your camera away between shoots. A lens hood helps keep stray light from reaching the front of the lens, which can reduce flare when a bright source sits just outside the frame. That makes it useful for outdoor scenes in angled sunlight, or indoors near a bright window. This is a straightforward accessory for someone looking for a B+W hood marked 77. The number is an important part of identifying the hood, so match it to the lens arrangement you intend to use. There are no extra controls to learn: its appeal is the simple combination of a hood and a fold-down design.
Specialist Note
Late-afternoon sun cuts across a street scene, and this is when a lens hood can help keep stray light from washing out contrast. I’d point this B+W out to someone who wants that practical light control but would rather not have a rigid hood taking up space when the camera is packed. The collapsible design lets you fold it down between shooting, then open it again when working in angled daylight or beside a bright window. The 77 marking gives you a specific designation to match to your lens setup; it isn’t a universal-fit accessory. It can help with light coming from outside the frame, but won’t remove flare from a bright source that’s actually in the picture.
