Black Lion Audio Micro Clock MkII Word Clock Generator
Black Lion Audio Micro Clock MkII Word Clock Generator | A dedicated word-clock source for studio systems
A digital audio setup needs a clear timing reference when its equipment is to work together; the Black Lion Audio Micro Clock MkII is a word clock generator for that job. It suits people putting together or organising a studio system who need a dedicated source of word clock, rather than another microphone or recording device. The useful distinction is its role: this unit generates word clock, so it belongs in the timing side of a digital audio setup. That makes it relevant when planning a recording rig with digital equipment, or reviewing how the system’s clocking is arranged. It’s a focused piece of studio gear, not a general-purpose accessory, and its product name doesn’t tell the whole story of how it will fit a particular setup. Think of it as a component to consider when word-clock generation is the specific need.
Specialist Note
The Black Lion Audio Micro Clock MkII is best at providing word-clock generation for a studio system. I’d consider it when you’re assembling a digital recording setup or rethinking the timing arrangement in an existing one: first identify which devices need a clock source, then plan where a generator belongs in that setup. The MkII designation is part of the model name; the key point for choosing it is the word-clock role, not microphone capture or gain. It suits someone solving a specific studio-timing need. I’d keep the decision focused: this is a clock generator, so it won’t replace a microphone or a recording interface.
