Caruba DJI Mavic Air Filterset
Caruba DJI Mavic Air Filterset | Reduce light for smoother aerial footage
What sets this Caruba filterset apart is its specific pairing with the DJI Mavic Air and its use of ND filtration: it’s for managing bright light when you want more control over shutter speed. It suits Mavic Air owners who film outdoors and want moving subjects, such as traffic or water, to look less choppy in their footage. An ND filter reduces the light reaching the camera, which can let you use a slower shutter in bright conditions rather than relying on a very fast exposure. That can help create natural-looking motion blur in video. It’s also relevant when you’re photographing a scene and want a longer exposure to show movement. The product is identified as a filterset, but no individual filter strengths are specified here, so I wouldn’t choose it on the assumption that it covers a particular lighting range. Think of it as a focused light-control accessory for the named drone system.
Specialist Note
The Caruba DJI Mavic Air Filterset is for reducing light when you want a slower shutter in bright conditions. The ND label tells you the filters’ job: they cut the light entering the camera, rather than changing colour or adding detail. The set format makes it a group of filters for that same purpose, so it’s aimed at Mavic Air owners who want to work with exposure outdoors. For smoother-looking aerial video, use ND filtration to make a slower shutter possible in daylight; for a still scene with moving water, that same reduction in light can help you use a longer exposure. It won’t replace thoughtful exposure choices, but it’s a straightforward tool for this particular camera system.
