Caruba Videostar 188 Videostatief

Caruba Videostar 188 Videostatief: Keep long exposures steady and level

As the light fades on a landscape, a steady tripod matters for keeping a long exposure sharp. The Caruba Videostar 188 Videostatief is an aluminium tripod with a maximum load of 15 kg, suited to supporting substantial camera setups. Its anodized aluminium construction keeps the tripod relatively light to carry between locations, while the supplied video head and handle give it a clear role for steady video as well as still photography. Landscape work, long exposures and night or astro photography all benefit from a stable camera position; video is another natural use for a support that comes with a dedicated video head. This is a straightforward option for photographers and videographers who need a sturdy base for work at home or on location. The adjustable, extending legs accommodate different setups, and the ground spreader adds support at the base. Rubber feet and supplied spikes address different ground conditions, from uneven surfaces to terrain where extra grip is useful. Two bubble levels are provided for checking the camera’s position. Together, these details make the Videostar 188 a versatile tripod for stills and video, with a 15 kg load rating at its core.

Stability and setup

• Extendable legs: Adjust the legs to suit the position and working height you need. Their adjustable design is useful when setting up on uneven ground.
• Ground spreader: The spreader connects the legs into a more stable base. It helps keep the tripod’s stance supported during stationary photography and video.
• Rubber feet and spikes: Rubber feet provide a stable contact on uneven surfaces, while the supplied spikes add grip on other terrain. You can choose the foot contact that fits the ground.
• Two bubble levels: Use the levels to check the tripod and camera position. That’s useful for keeping a landscape horizon straight or setting up a level video frame.
• Video head with handgrip: The head is supplied with a handle for controlled camera movement. It suits video work where a steady pan matters.
• 15 kg maximum load: The stated capacity is 15 kg. That figure gives you a clear reference when considering the combined weight of your camera setup.
