Cokin Filter A129 Gradual Pink P2
Cokin Filter A129 Gradual Pink P2 | Add a gentle pink transition to your frame
Cokin Filter A129 Gradual Pink P2 is a gradual pink colour filter for photographers who want to introduce a tint to part of a scene. It suits landscape and travel photographers working with skies, horizons and other compositions where a coloured transition can add a deliberate touch without colouring the whole frame equally. Place the pink area over the part of the image you want to tint, and let the transition lead into the rest of the scene. That makes it particularly suited to adding a pink tone to a sunset sky while keeping the foreground less affected. It’s a creative effect rather than a neutral correction, so the result depends on where you place the coloured area and how much of the frame it covers. If you enjoy making colour part of the composition, this filter gives you a direct, in-camera way to do that.
Specialist Note
Photographers who compose around a horizon or a broad evening sky can make purposeful use of this gradual pink filter. I’d position the pink area over the sky and adjust the transition against the horizon, so the colour supports the scene rather than covering the foreground evenly. The gradual change is useful when you want a softer boundary between tinted and less-tinted parts of the frame; the pink itself is an intentional colour effect, not a way to keep tones neutral. The P2 marking identifies this particular version, so use that exact designation when choosing it. It suits considered compositions, but it won’t give a natural-looking colour balance if a pink tint isn’t what you want.
