Cokin Filter A230 U.V Sky Neutral (Totally Neutral UV)
Cokin Filter A230 U.V Sky Neutral (Totally Neutral UV) | Neutral UV filtering for outdoor scenes
For outdoor scenes where you want UV filtering without a deliberate shift in colour, the Cokin Filter A230 U.V Sky Neutral (Totally Neutral UV) is a straightforward option. Its name identifies it as a UV filter with a totally neutral character, making it suited to photographers who want a filter for daylight landscapes, buildings or general outdoor photography without aiming for a coloured effect. The key detail is that neutrality: it gives this filter a different purpose from filters chosen to visibly change the mood of an image. The A230 designation is also useful when you’re searching for this specific Cokin model or discussing it with us. If your priority is a neutral UV filter, rather than a creative colour treatment, this product’s stated purpose is clear and specific.
A focused UV filter
This is a specialised choice, not a general-purpose creative effect. The product name gives you two clear identifiers to look for: Cokin A230 and Sky Neutral, also described as Totally Neutral UV. That makes it easier to distinguish this model from filters whose names suggest a different colour effect. Consider it when your intended result is neutral UV filtering; choose a different kind of filter if you want an obvious change in colour.
Specialist Note
If you want UV filtering but don’t want a coloured look, the “Totally Neutral” description is the point to pay attention to here. I’d consider the Cokin A230 for daylight landscapes or outdoor architecture when you want the scene’s colour character to remain the focus. The Sky Neutral wording makes its intended role easy to recognise, while A230 gives you the specific model name to use when asking us about this filter. It’s a deliberately narrow option: I wouldn’t choose it for a strong creative colour shift. For that, you’ll want a filter with a different stated effect.
