Comica Wireless Cardioid Condensor Shotgun Microphone CVM-VM30 (COM-CVMVM30)
Comica Wireless Cardioid Condenser Shotgun Microphone CVM-VM30 | Focus your video audio on the speaker
Hear the speaker take a more prominent place in your video audio, without a microphone cable tethering your setup. The Comica CVM-VM30 is a wireless cardioid condenser shotgun microphone for video makers who want a directional mic rather than relying on a camera’s built-in audio. Its cardioid pickup pattern favours sound coming from the direction it’s aimed, while the shotgun format suits recording a person in front of the camera. That makes it worth considering for presenter videos, interviews and other spoken-word recordings where you can point the mic towards the person talking. Wireless operation can also make it easier to move around a recording space without routing a mic cable between you and the camera. Keep the mic aimed at the speaker as they talk; its directionality is most useful when you can control where it’s pointing. If your videos depend on dialogue, this is a more focused tool than an on-camera mic with no directional aim.
Specialist Note
30 is the model designation here; in practice, the detail to pay attention to is the CVM-VM30’s wireless, directional design. The cardioid pattern gives you a clear reason to point it towards the person speaking, rather than treating it as a room microphone. For a seated interview, keep it aimed at your subject; for a presenter moving through a scene, adjust its direction to follow their voice. The condenser design makes it a mic intended for capturing speech, while the shotgun form suits work where you can aim from in front of the speaker. I’d choose it for controlled dialogue, not as a fix for a noisy room—the mic can’t make unwanted background sound disappear.
