Dörr Camera & Smartphone Tripod Smarty
Dörr Camera & Smartphone Tripod Smarty | A tripod for smartphone video
Holding a smartphone in the same position throughout a video can be awkward, especially when you need both hands free. The Dörr Camera & Smartphone Tripod Smarty is a smartphone video accessory with a simple purpose: give your phone a tripod-based place for recording. It suits anyone making clips with a smartphone, from a one-person talking-to-camera video to a demonstration where your hands need to be in view. A fixed position can also make it easier to keep the framing consistent between takes. This is a focused accessory, not a camera or a way to change the phone’s video settings; your smartphone still does the recording. If you want a tripod for smartphone video rather than another camera body, the Smarty is the product to consider. Its appeal is its clear, specific role in a phone-based video setup.
Specialist Note
“Is the Smarty for recording video with a smartphone?” Yes—it’s a tripod accessory made for that job. The tripod part gives your phone a place to stay while you record, so you don’t have to hold it throughout a take. And because it’s a smartphone video accessory, the phone remains the camera: use its own video controls and app. I’d consider it for a one-person piece to camera or a tabletop demonstration, with the phone aimed at the scene before you start. It’s a straightforward tool, rather than a stand-in for a dedicated video camera.
