Formatt Hitech 49-77mm Step Ring For Firecrest 85mm Holder
Formatt Hitech 49-77mm Step Ring For Firecrest 85mm Holder | Share one holder across lens threads
When you switch lenses and the filter setup you want to use doesn’t match the lens’s filter-thread size, a step ring can bridge that gap. This Formatt Hitech ring is for photographers who want to use a Firecrest holder across lenses rather than treat each one as a separate filter setup. It connects the lens to the holder, letting you share that holder with lenses whose thread sizes fall within the ring’s stated range. That can be handy for landscape or architectural photography, where you may want to keep your holder-based filter setup ready as you change lenses or framing. It’s a small piece of filter-system hardware with a clear job: helping the holder fit the lens. The ring doesn’t change the image by itself; its value is in making the holder usable with a suitable lens.
Specialist Note
A mismatch between a lens thread and holder can leave your filter setup at a dead end; this ring is there to bridge that fit. Its 49–77mm range gives you room to use the same Firecrest holder with lenses that have different thread sizes within that span. It’s made for the 85mm Firecrest holder, so the pairing is specific rather than a general-purpose adapter claim. For landscape work, fit the ring to the lens you’re using, then mount the holder for your filter setup; the same approach can help when switching lenses for architectural framing. Just keep to the stated size range.
