Formatt Hitech 62-77mm Step Ring For Firecrest 85mm Holder
Formatt Hitech 62-77mm Step Ring For Firecrest 85mm Holder | Bridges two filter sizes
Formatt Hitech 62-77mm Step Ring For Firecrest 85mm Holder is a size-bridging ring for photographers working with 62mm and 77mm fittings. It’s intended for use with the Firecrest 85mm holder, making it relevant to photographers who want to include that holder in a setup involving these two sizes. The ring’s job is specific: it provides a link between the 62mm and 77mm parts of your filter arrangement. That makes it useful when you want to keep a holder-based setup together while accommodating a different fitting size. For landscape and location photography, it can help you arrange your filter equipment around the holder you use, rather than treating the two sizes as if they fit directly together. Match the ring to the parts marked 62mm and 77mm, and use it as the connection between them. This is an adapter, not a filter, so it’s the size relationship you’re choosing it for.
Specialist Note
Landscape photographers building a filter setup around more than one fitting size are the people I’d guide towards this ring. The 62-77mm step gives you two clear sizes to match: use it where your arrangement needs those fittings joined, instead of assuming they’ll connect directly. It’s made for the Firecrest 85mm holder, so that holder is the reference point when you’re planning the setup. For landscape work with a filter in front of the lens, the ring helps bring those specified sizes into the same arrangement. My honest advice is to choose it for that exact step; it isn’t a general-size adapter.
