Formatt Hitech 85x110mm (3.35x4.33) NDSEG 0.3 (1 Stop)
Formatt Hitech 85x110mm (3.35x4.33) NDSEG 0.3 (1 Stop) | Make a small, controlled exposure adjustment
On a bright day, you may want to keep the aperture you’ve chosen but let a little less light reach the camera. This Formatt Hitech gray ND filter is made for that kind of adjustment: it reduces light without asking you to change your composition or abandon your preferred exposure settings. It suits photographers who want a modest amount of control in changing light, whether they’re balancing a bright scene or making a shutter-speed adjustment while keeping their aperture fixed. The one-stop rating makes the effect deliberately restrained, rather than a way to create very long exposures in strong sunlight. That’s useful when a small change is all you need, but it’s worth choosing a stronger filter if your aim is a much longer exposure. The filter’s dimensions and rating are detailed below.
Specialist Note
This Formatt Hitech filter gives you a one-stop light reduction when you want to keep your chosen aperture. The 0.3 rating is a modest adjustment: for example, at the same ISO and aperture, it lets you move from 1/125s to about 1/60s. That can help when you want a slightly slower shutter in daylight without changing the look of your depth of field. The 85x110mm size is the key detail when matching it to a filter holder, so make sure your setup takes this format. I’d point it towards photographers who need fine exposure control; one stop won’t create a dramatic long exposure in bright conditions.
