Formatt Hitech FC 46mm Superslim Stackable Cir.pol.
Formatt Hitech FC 46mm Superslim Stackable Cir.pol. | Tame reflections and deepen skies
Reflections on water and glass can give way to more visible detail, while a blue sky can look richer in your pictures. The Formatt Hitech FC is a circular polarizing filter: adjust its effect by turning the filter as you look through the camera, then take the picture when the reflections or sky look the way you want. It’s suited to photographers who want hands-on control over glare and contrast in outdoor scenes, shop windows or other reflective subjects. The 46mm size is for a lens with a matching 46mm filter thread. Its superslim, stackable design is useful if you want to combine filters while keeping the setup compact. A polarizer’s effect depends on the angle of the light, so it won’t remove every reflection in every position. Take a moment to check the view before shooting; that small adjustment is where this filter earns its place.
Specialist Note
New polarizer owners often expect the filter to make every reflection disappear; the result actually changes with the light’s angle and your adjustment. I’d use this 46mm filter on a lens with a matching thread, then turn it while watching the reflective surface in the viewfinder or screen. That’s especially useful for reducing glare on water or glass, or bringing more depth to a sky. The superslim profile keeps the filter’s form compact, and its stackable design lets you combine it with another filter when your setup calls for it. It suits photographers who like to judge the effect in the frame. Just don’t expect the same result from every viewpoint.
