Freewell Osmo Pocket 4p ND32/PL Filter - Black
Freewell Osmo Pocket 4p ND32/PL Filter - Black | Five-stop light reduction with polarised control
Bright scenes can leave you with footage that feels too harsh or reflections that pull attention from the subject. This Freewell filter combines neutral-density and polarising functions for the Osmo Pocket 4p, giving you a way to manage strong light and reflected glare while filming. It’s especially suited to outdoor video in sunshine, and to scenes with reflective surfaces such as water or windows. The ND function cuts the light reaching the camera; the PL function can reduce certain reflections, with the result depending on how you angle the camera to the light. That makes it useful when you want more considered-looking footage in bright conditions, rather than simply accepting whatever the available light gives you. It’s a focused accessory for Pocket 4p owners who film outdoors or around reflections; it won’t remove every reflection, and the polarising effect changes with your shooting angle.
Specialist Note
32 means five stops of light reduction in practice, which is a substantial cut for filming in bright daylight. I’d look at this filter for outdoor scenes where you want to keep exposure under control without losing the option to choose a deliberate shutter speed. The PL designation matters for a different reason: it can tame reflections from water or glass, helping the subject read more clearly. For the strongest polarising effect, adjust your shooting angle rather than expecting the filter to remove glare from every position. It suits Osmo Pocket 4p owners who regularly film in sunshine or near reflective surfaces. Just bear in mind that the polarising effect varies with the angle of the light.
