Fuji Instax Pal 2 White

Fuji Instax Pal 2 White: Capture everyday moments as digital photos

The Fuji Instax Pal 2 White keeps its design compact so you can carry a camera for moments that might otherwise pass by. It’s a digital camera with a fixed lens, an optical viewfinder and a 1.0-inch LCD screen, giving you a familiar way to frame a picture alongside a small display. The white finish gives this version a clean, simple look. The Pal 2 saves photos digitally rather than printing them at the camera, so you can decide later which images you want to print. Take it on a walk to catch small details along the way, or bring it to a get-together and use the instax Pal 2 app to frame a group picture from your phone. You can also turn a sequence of ten shots into a flipbook-style animation, adding movement to the playful, spontaneous approach. Image effects and several instax print formats offer ways to give saved pictures a different look or output later. One useful detail to keep in mind: a compatible instax printer is sold separately for making physical prints. The Pal 2 is best understood as a pocketable camera for collecting and styling images, rather than a camera that prints as soon as you press the shutter.

What it does

• Five themes and 30 effects: Each theme contains six effects, so you can choose from a range of image treatments in the app. Save up to six favourites for quicker access to the looks you use most.
• Ten-shot instax Animation: The camera captures ten images for a flipbook-style animation. It’s a playful way to turn a brief action into something more lively than a single still photograph.
• Four print format options: In still-image mode, the print lever switches between instax mini, SQUARE, WIDE and borderless formats. You can pick a format for the image without the camera printing it on the spot.
• Storage for up to 100 photos: A microSD card slot provides storage, and the camera can hold up to 100 photos. That gives you a place to keep a selection of images before transferring them to your phone.
• Bluetooth and USB-C transfers: Move photos to a phone over Bluetooth or connect by USB-C. USB-C transfer takes up to 0.7 seconds per photo, useful when you want to get an image across quickly.
• Phone-based remote shooting: Use the instax Pal 2 app to preview the framing, adjust settings and trigger the camera remotely. That’s handy for self-portraits or group shots when you want to be in the picture too.
• Prints with a separate instax printer: Compatible models listed for printing include the mini Link 3, mini Link+, SQUARE Link and Link WIDE. The Pal 2 records the photos; the printer handles the physical print.

Good to know

A self-timer and selfie mirror support self-portraits, while the tripod socket gives you another way to position the camera for a group shot. An angle-adjustment accessory is also described for tilting the camera during remote shooting; it’s an accessory, not a confirmed item in the box. These details make the remote-shooting options more flexible than simply setting the camera down and hoping for the right framing.
