H&Y ND8 Magnetic Filter For RevoRing VND/CPL 58-77mm | Control bright light with less fuss

Bright daylight can make it hard to keep a slower shutter speed or a wider aperture, especially when filming outdoors. This ND8 filter reduces the light reaching the camera by three stops, giving you more room to manage exposure in bright conditions. It’s a magnetic filter made for the H&Y RevoRing VND/CPL in the 58-77mm range, so it’s aimed at photographers and video makers who already use that system. Use it when you want to retain motion in a daylight video, or lengthen an exposure to soften moving water. The ND8 density is a set level of light reduction, rather than a variable adjustment: that makes its role straightforward, but it won’t cover every lighting situation. If you use the matching RevoRing, this gives you a direct way to add ND filtration to your setup.

Specialist Note

First-time owners sometimes assume a magnetic filter will fit any ring they have; this one is made specifically for the RevoRing VND/CPL in the 58-77mm range. I’d keep that pairing in mind when choosing it. The magnetic attachment is handy when you want to put the filter on for a particular shot and take it off again without treating it as a permanent part of the setup. For outdoor video, use it to help retain motion in bright light; for moving water, pair it with a tripod and extend the exposure to smooth the movement. One honest limit: an ND8 gives you a fixed amount of reduction, so very bright scenes or especially long exposures may call for a different density.
