Hahnemühle DFA William Turner 190GSM 61cmx12m

Hahnemühle DFA William Turner 190GSM 61cmx12m | A roll format for considered print planning

The key detail here is the roll format: Hahnemühle DFA William Turner comes 61 cm wide and 12 m long, rather than as a pack of individual sheets. It suits photographers and printmakers who want to plan their output around a continuous length of photo paper. The stated weight is 190 gsm, a concrete point to weigh up when choosing stock for a print job. I’d start by comparing the 61 cm width with the size of the prints you have in mind; that gives you a practical way to judge how the roll may fit your plans. The William Turner name identifies this particular paper, while the title also makes the weight and roll dimensions easy to check at a glance. If you’re selecting paper by format and weight first, those are the useful details to work from.

Planning around the roll

A 12 m roll gives you a length of paper to plan across, rather than a fixed count of pre-cut sheets. That can be helpful when you’re working out how much stock a print run may use. The actual amount needed will depend on your print sizes and how you arrange them along the roll, so it’s worth sketching out the job before committing to a layout.

The 61 cm measurement is the roll width, a straightforward reference for planning print dimensions. Leave room in your calculations for the way you intend to position each print, and consider the 190 gsm weight alongside your other paper requirements. This is a focused option for shoppers who already know they want the William Turner paper name in a wide roll format.
