Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta 315GSM 42x59.4cm (A2) 25

Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta 315GSM 42x59.4cm (A2) 25 | A2 prints for selected photographs

For photographs you want to print at A2, Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta 315GSM gives you a large sheet measuring 42 x 59.4 cm. The pack contains 25 sheets. It’s suited to photographers who choose particular images to print large, rather than simply making a quick small print of every frame. Think of a favourite image for a portfolio, a personal project or a space where you want the photograph to take up more of the wall. The name identifies the paper as Photo Rag Baryta, with a weight of 315 gsm; beyond that, I’d keep the choice grounded in the format and the image you have in mind. A2 gives a photograph room to read from a little distance, while still letting someone look more closely. One practical point: the print’s final feel depends on the image and how you present it, so consider the intended size before choosing which photographs to print.

Planning an A2 print

A2 is a substantial print size, so it’s worth thinking about composition before committing one of your sheets. Check that the crop you want still works at 42 x 59.4 cm, and consider whether the image is meant to be viewed across a room or up close. Those decisions can help you choose which photographs deserve this format. With 25 sheets in the pack, there’s room to make a selection for a project or to print several images at the same size. The 315 gsm weight is another concrete part of the choice: it helps distinguish this paper from options sold at other weights, without telling you on its own how a particular photograph will look. For a considered print, start with the image, then decide whether A2 is the presentation you want.
