Hama Grey Filter-Set ND8 ND64 ND1000 82 mm w/ Filtertas
Hama Grey Filter-Set ND8 ND64 ND1000 82 mm w/ Filtertas | Shape daylight with longer exposures
Smooth water and softened cloud movement are easier to capture when you can lengthen your exposure in daylight. This Hama grey filter set gives you three neutral-density strengths to reduce the light reaching your camera, so you can use slower shutter speeds without relying only on a very small aperture. It suits landscape photographers and anyone who wants to make moving water or clouds appear less defined in a still image. The filters are in an 82 mm size, so match that measurement to the filter size required by your lens. A filter pouch is included to keep the set together between shoots. The different strengths give you room to adjust the amount of light reduction to the scene, from a modest change to a much longer exposure.
Specialist Note
ND1000 gives roughly ten stops of light reduction; in practice, that can turn a 1/1000 sec exposure into about one second. That’s useful for smoothing a stream or letting moving clouds blur, provided your camera is steady on a tripod. The ND8 is a gentler three-stop option: for example, it can take 1/125 sec to around 1/15 sec for a softer trace in moving water. I’d suggest this set to someone who wants a few distinct exposure options rather than just one strong filter. The pouch keeps the three filters together, but remember to set focus and composition before using the darkest one, when the view can be hard to see.
