Hama Network Cable CAT-8 40 GBIT/s S/FTP Afgeschermd 0.5 M

Hama CAT-8 40 Gbit/s S/FTP Shielded Network Cable 0.5 m | A short, shielded network link

When a network port is close by, a long cable can leave an awkward loop on the desk or behind equipment. This Hama network cable gives you a short connection, with a CAT-8 rating of 40 Gbit/s and S/FTP shielding. At 0.5 m, it suits a setup where the connected devices are close together and you want to avoid excess cable getting in the way. The black finish keeps it visually discreet around a workstation or network setup. It’s a straightforward option for someone who needs a compact, shielded cable with a clearly stated speed rating. The honest limitation is the length: half a metre leaves little room for routing around obstacles, so it makes most sense when the ports are already near each other.

For close-together connections

A short cable is useful when devices sit side by side, or when a network port is close to the place the cable needs to reach. It can help keep a compact setup neater by avoiding a long spare section that has to be looped, tucked away or gathered up. Measure the route between the connection points before choosing; the path the cable takes matters, not just the straight-line distance between devices.

The shielding and stated data rate make this a clearly specified cable for a setup that calls for those particular cable details. The short length is the main practical consideration. If your connection needs to pass around a desk, travel down a cabinet or follow a longer route, allow for that extra distance rather than relying on a tight fit. For a nearby port, though, a half-metre cable keeps the connection compact without leaving a bundle of unused cable to manage.
